Nach dem Besuch einiger Schulen (zu Arbeitszwecken!!!) nahmen wir mit Freuden das Angebot unseres Vermieters an, mit ihm nach Cartago zu fahren. Cartago ist die ehemalige Hauptstadt von Costa Rica, wurde aber 1723 vom Vulkan Irazú zerstört. Wiederaufgebaut beherbergt die Basilika in Cartago die Schutzheilige von Costa Rica - "La Negrita". Mehr dazu unter http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartago (englische Seite besser, Link weiter unten) Leider haben wir nicht viel mehr von Cartago gesehen, da alleine die Hinfahrt schon fast 3 Stunden dauerte.
After a visit in several schools (investigations) we went with our hirer for a short visit to Cartago, the former capital of San Jose, 1723 destroyed by the vulcano Irazú. Now it is the hostel of the patron saint of Costa Rica - the "Negrita". (More info you can find here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartago,_Costa_Rica) Unfortunately we have not seen much of Cartago, ´cause the journey there tooks us alone nearly 3 hours. (one way)
